Forward… one step in front of the other….
moving, slowly through time and space.
Where will it take you?
Is the path destiny or can you choose the direction?
Work, family, life pulling you in so many directions.
Can you move forward while everything else stands still?
I have changed and I have grown
Will I fit where I once did?
Forward… one step in front in the other….
slowly moving until I get there.
Looking through my photos I couldn’t find what I was looking for to show me moving forward. I thought about my passport and without it I couldn’t have moved forward. Travel has opened doors and given me opportunities I would have never had otherwise. My passport will always allow me to move forward…
What helps you move forward?

Hi Diana, Your poem is very thought provoking…stirred me to think about ways I have moved forward. I am not the traveler that you are, but I travel through the thousands of books that I read. I have traveled via a book to many a country that I never would have learned about. Many choose to read electronically but I’m of the age where a real book in my hand brings me joy!
I like paper books too, but I am now on my second e-book and I like it. It is a lot more convient when travelling and not needing to take a suitcase full of books! I can adjust it to a paper flip and colour of paper, so it looks the same… well kind of. I am reading Anne of Green Gables right now… which I had never read before. It is a free download too

Love this post! So incredibly true isn’t it!
Yes I think you can grow so much with travel and I know I have. My first solo travel changed me forever and pushed me ‘forward’. This trip to China to work abroad is another experience that pushed my job forward and me personally too!
Thanks Nicole for the visit.
I owe so much of who I am to traveling and seeing the world. I feel so utterly blessed!
For sure Nicole… is does make us who who are and I think it also makes us more open, understanding and tolerant of others.

The poem is great as is the visual – a passport such a little but powerful thing
Thanks very much for the compliment. Yes such a small piece of paper is so powerful… and allows us so much freedom.

A couple thoughts. First HOW could you have not read Anne of Green Gables yet??????????????????? And second… I’d show you photos of my family, my kids, my nephews and niece they’re how I measure my passage forward through time.
HA HA… yes they are getting too big and now one in highschool!!! I am starting to feel old. Is it possible for them to grow older and bigger and us to stay the same age???
PS not sure how I never read Anne of Green Gables… even after going to see her house in PEI when I was 10 or 11. You think it would have been a must buy souviener and must read after being there!
“My passport will always allow me to move forward…” – for me it’s my guitar!
AH yes music another good way to be forward.
