Travel Theme: Red

This week’s photo challenge set out by Ailsa over at Where’s My Backpack is RED.

Red is an important colour in China. From last week’s “Capture the Colour” I used this picture taken at a Chinese Tea Ceremony in China. Lots of variations of red.

Local Colour – Blue Berries and Juicy Red Strawberries

This picture may also look familiar. It was from a post I did about Colourful Niagara at a local farmer’s market back home this summer. Juicy red strawberries. YUM!

Check out Where’s my Backpack for more entries or to add your own 🙂
Stay tuned for more… another photo challenge to come and hopefully another post on Cuba!

  1. Mmmm yummy berries! 🙂

  2. Beautiful Chinese Tea Ceremony!

  3. that tea ceremony look wonderful…how does it taste ?

    • The teas are really yummy. They must be doing something right to have the saying ‘not for all the tea in China’ Hee Hee. Tea is very popular here and very expensive though and I can see why when you look at the flowering teas and how they are hand made. There are cheaper varieties and that is what I go for.
They also had a menu for what ‘ails’ you and they have a tea for that.

  4. Great shots!

  5. Freda Goulet

I love the contrast in color between the blueberries and strawberries…they look so fresh…a far cry from what we get all winter!

    • This is local Ontario fruit at its best! I find it hard to get local Ontario fruit at the stores anymore. The watery, bland ones shipped in don’t cut it. The one thing in China I notice is the sweet, full flavour of things. Carrots, strawberries, cucumbers… it is amazing the difference and they tast like real food!
