Weekly Photo Challenges: Pale Colour

Word Press has set COLOUR as the theme this week while Ailsa has set PALE. I have decided to mingle the two themes since they can go hand in hand.

Instead of delving into the archives I took these photos Saturday and Sunday locally. The Easter Eggs and Orchids were taken at the Kerry Parkside Mall/Hotel here in Shanghai and the blossoms here in our apartment complex.

The mix of pale and vibrant colours are in each picture.

  • photo one: a pale pink blossom and pale weak spring sunshine
  • photo two: bright fuchsia pink blossoms against a pale baby blue sky
  • photo three: brightly coloured Easter Eggs complimented with pale pastels
  • photo four: pale white and yellow orchids set against rich chocolate brown wood

Join in the fun or see more examples by clicking the links above.

Stay tuned… next week I will post more on our trip to Beijing.

Great contrast in colors in ordinary things that most of us wouldn’t notice. You have a good eye for exactly the best pictures to fit your weekly themes.. I love the delicate orchids against the stronger wood background.

    • Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚ The hotel has some amazing displays and I snapped that photo Saturday and the flowers were something totally different on Sunday… I lucked out!

  3. Very pretty! How is your weather these days? It is still yucky here with dirty snow and no sign of spring.

    • It has warmed up a bit, but you can’t tell with the wind. At least the strong winds have kept the air cleaner. We were off for 10 days for Easter and Qing Ming… few cloudy and rainy days though. Of course today sunny and 20c! Figures on your day back to work! Dad said it has been colder than normal in Ontario too. BBC Weather has been showing how pretty much all of Norther Hemisphere is 5-10c colder than normal for the past 25+ days. Like my dad says it will come… can’t rush Mother Nature.
Thanks for stopping by and the comments ๐Ÿ™‚

      • Yeah, I bet it has been cooler in Canada too. Finally our snow is gone but it is so brown. Oh well…not much longer now!

        • Last year my dad said March was record highs and all winter was mild… then along came April and they had a freak snow. We never get snow in April! It looks like this year winter is hanging on and not ready to let go. I think it is all those mild winters for so long has spoiled everyone and they forget what real cold and winter is all about ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Thanks… that is my favourite blossom… the Japanese Cherry Tree. They are so beautiful. We had one in our yard back home growing up and I spotted them yesterday here in our complex.
Thanks for the comment and stopping by for a visit ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. what a clever wee thing you are combining these two themes so artfully

    • Thanks… sometimes I must look for the links due to limited time… sometimes I stretch it a bit far, but I think this one worked out well ๐Ÿ˜‰

  9. Wonderful ‘color’ gallery… great work… ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Thanks… my colours were more on the ‘pale’ side, but the promise of spring was in the air ๐Ÿ™‚
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
