Victoria Day

The third Monday in May is Victoria Day in Canada. To celebrate the former Queen Victoria’sΒ  birthday and part of our country’s heritage. It is a statuary holiday for everyone and the Monday night is filled with fireworks in the sky.

Thanks, Diana…it has been a hot one…31*C all day, feeling like 35*C.

    • Good to hear it was hot… dad said Sat or Sun was cold down by the lake. We have been hot here. Had a few false starts to summer (seems to always skip spring here πŸ˜‰ ), but our temps are high 20’s and low 30’s with super humidity already.

  2. Fireworks are one of my favorite things in life! Thanks for sharing!

    • Thanks for the visit πŸ™‚

Those were over the Falls a few years ago taken from a hotel balcony West of them.
Shanghai has some pretty spectacular displays a few times a year. Puts those pale in comparrision πŸ˜‰

      • Amazing and I would love to go there!

        • The Falls is an amazing wonder. Thousands and thousands flock to it each year. We are so lucky to be such a short distance away from it all. Summer is the busiest time, but each season is unique and beautiful. The Maid of the Mist boat tours run late May until usually Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. Although a new company may take over and who knows what will happen to the historic boat tours up close to the mist.

  3. Hope you had a happy day πŸ™‚

    • It was a work day here in Shanghai, so I don’t get to celebrate 😦 Did a quick post for all my friends and family back home since they had the day off.
Do you celebrate this in the UK?
