From Every Angle: Photo Challenge

From different angles the same view, item and thing can look very different. Most of us are familiar with the Canadian icon of Lake Louise with its surreal turquoise waters. Tourists flock to the lake and take photos along the shore in front of the Chateau Lake Louise hotel.

Even fewer take the long hike up to the Plain of the 6 Glaciers, which goes around the lake and up the mountain. I have visited Lake Louise numerous times and on 3 visits we hiked to Lake Agnes, a 3.4 KM walk uphill. Our last visit we decided to do the longer hike a mere 6.6KM to the Plain of 6 Glaciers Tea House. From there we had many different angles and views of Lake Louise.

The hike started off beautifully along the shores of Lake Louise on aΒ  trail lined with many log benches. The lake ends along the ribbon like river that feeds the lake and a gentle climb begins up the steep slopes.

After 4KM, when you are just getting tired, the trail gets rocky and steep. The views are worth it. You feel so small with the huge mountain backdrops. Nature is stunning from all angles.

View back in front of the Chateau. Different again as a rain shower just ended and the mountains shrouded in clouds.

Have you ever visited Lake Louise?

Stay tuned…

  1. I have. I did not do that hike but we spent a week in tents near the top of the Rockies.

    • It is beautiful there for sure. I am glad we have had the chance to live close by and spend our weekends hiking. Nice change of views. I have exchanged tall sky scrapers for mountains πŸ™‚

  2. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Grand view! Love Lake l!

  4. I have a really old photo of Lake Louise. I think my sister would kill me if I shared it though. Those “owl” glasses she was wearing will never come back into style. LOL

    • Well the 80s is back! I noticed the bigger glasses lately in Shanghai and it is drifting here. I saw teen boys (yes boys) with big hair. Not quite Flock of Seagulls, but same flip. The lady at a clothing shop mentioned shoulder pads are back in too. ICK!

  5. Ξ© ………… awesome! 😎
